Chillers play an important role in the hospitals and other industries. Being an integral part of any HVAC system, they provide clean and fresh air to hospitals, keep machines running consistently and help deep freeze the medicines in the Hospital.
Excess heat in any industry can cause downtime, equipment damage, inefficiency, and, consequently, poor services. Industrial chillers help keep HVAC systems buildings cool and running smoothly. With chillers, the exchange heat can be removed and keep the process at optimum performance, even when temperatures are high.
There are two types of chillers- the Air-cooled and Water-cooled chillers. At GSVSPGI both types of chillers are insatalled and operationalized.
Water-cooled chillers are used for large installations, water-cooled chillers are connected with a cooling tower and a water-cooled condenser is used to remove excess heat. They use recirculating water from a cooling tower to condense the refrigerant. This water absorbs heat from the process and the heated water returns to the chiller. The processed water works as a medium for heat transfer. The water-cooled chillers can often operate more efficiently than an air-cooled chiller. At GSVSPGI Water cooled chiller is used to cool the entire PMSSY building while air cooled chiller is used for MRI Room.
